Fromus Veterinary Group is based in scenic coastal Suffolk. Our main surgery, with full diagnostic, surgical and hospitalisation facilities, is conveniently based on Street Farm Road in Saxmundham, just off the High Street and only a few minutes’ drive from the A12.
We have a friendly team of experienced staff and our aim is to provide the highest standard of compassionate veterinary care for our patients and their owners.
Fromus Veterinary Group is part of CVS (UK) Ltd. CVS provides support services to the practice including health and safety and human resources. This means that our practice staff can spend their time focusing on providing optimal patient care. Being part of a larger group of practices also enables our clinicians to share expertise across the practice group in order to provide the most up to date diagnostic and treatment plans for their patients.
Fromus was started as a mixed practice during the 1930’s by Bill Downie, and Roy Fishwick joined Bill in the 1950’s. When Bill retired in 1965, Michael Hill became a partner and Michael’s son James Hill also trained as a vet and became a partner in 1998. Michael retired from being a partner in 2004, but continued to work at the surgery until 2013. In 2007, James Hill sold Fromus Veterinary Group to CVS (UK) Ltd.
Rosie Barker now works as a clinical director for CVS (UK) Ltd managing both Fromus Veterinary Group and our sister practice Castle Veterinary Group, assisted by David Schilder, our practice manager and Bronwyn Nicholls, our head nurse.
